This just in… ABC World News Tonight’s “Made in America” series made a visit to Fender’s Corona, California manufacturing facility to chronicle Fender’s USA roots. The news Program has a long running “Made in America” segment highlighting products made in the USA. The Fender piece mentions some of Fenders best known players AND shows some of the folks that build those great guitars. Rich MacDonald, Fender’s Executive Vice President shows the news show’s host, David Muir at least one chord to play on a Strat.
Fender also makes guitars in Mexico, Japan, China, India, Indonesia, South Korea and other countries, too. But that part wasn’t mentioned in the news piece.
The video of the segment is featured below. Fender has a new CEO (again, 3rd one in a year), new marketing staff headquartered in Burbank, California, and a new emphasis on the Fender BRAND. So, this national news piece is a good fit for the new regime.
